Comfort Zone Camp came to California largely due to the encouragement and support of a volunteer named "California Bob," who first learned about Comfort Zone while on vacation in Italy. Bob started attending camps in May 2004, flying from California to Virginia to participate.

In 2006, Bob and a group of his close friends and family began running a fundraiser that grew from a backyard barbeque to what is now our annual California fundraiser. Due to the hard work and dedication of Bob and those he recruited, Comfort Zone Camp officially came to California in the fall of 2008.
