The April Virginia Community Program will be located at Chickahominy Middle School (9450 Atlee Station Rd, Mechanicsville, VA 23116) on Wednesday, April 18 6:00pm-8:30pm.  This event is open to students, parent, teachers, and school staff from any surrounding schools.

Grief is not just limited to one’s home - students, teachers, administrators, caregivers, and parents face challenges with supporting grieving youth in the classroom and in the community.  The Community Program is designed for schools to create a safe space to learn, heal, and share about the effects of grief on youth and families. Discussions and activities focus on education and awareness, specifically how to support members of the community who are navigating a loss.

At this program, participants have the opportunity to:

  • Discuss and learn about grief, and how to support others
  • Share thoughts and hear others’ stories in a safe environment
  • Take part in fun group activities
  • Learn coping skills

As with all Comfort Zone programs, the Community Program is offered at no cost to all attendees.
